How the weeks just keep rolling by. I swear they are shorter than they use to be! I can´t even believe it! You have all asked about my new area and I am LOVING it! It is so HUGE!!! I can´t remember if I told you or not in my last email but we actually share out area with the Assistants to the mission president. It´s really kinda of interesting but I really like it. What better opportunity could I have then to learn from some of the best missionaries in the mission? I also love the ward. It is fantastic. I have NEVER been in a ward here so huge. Our ward list is about 11 pages long... which would mean like 200 something members and about 100 of those inactive, so we have our work cut-out for us. I am really excited though because the stake president and really into missionary work and he was the bishop of our ward up until a few months ago so we had a meeting with him this week to go over a plan as to what he sees for the area and how we can help him in his vision!!! We also have ward missionaries for the first time in my mission!!!! It´s incredible. I am really excited to work here and hope that I can stay here for the rest of my mission.
My companion is incredible. We have such a good time together and she is a really hard worker. As we have spent more time together I have realized just how latin I have become in my customs. I love it though so I am trying not to lose it. It is crazy how fast time flies by. I was with only latins for about a year and it flew by.. I can´t even believe it. We are both thinking that we will probably only be together for one transfer because this really is too good to be true! :) We had an interesting week this past week. On Monday the office Elders called us to inform us that 2 other Hnas were going to come and sleep in our pench that night. (Our pench is known as the office hilton since every sister that needs to stay close to the offices stays with us). It was great to see the other sisters and I should have known that something was going to happen since things always happen when we are with other sisters.... At like 1 o´clock in the morning I work up to my companion in severe pain. Unsure of what I could do since I feel that my nursing skills have been reduced to therapuetic touch and nothing else, we decided to call the mission nurse. Luckily they live in our same building and she and her husband (Elder and Hna Cox) rushed over to help us. After waking up the other hermanas as well, Hna Pullan was given a blessing and all four of us (Flia Cox and us) rushed to a Hospital in Capital. We were in the ER all night and until about 10 o´clock the next morning running tests etc. It was funny because Hna Cox was always pushing me to be close to my companion... The staff kept looking at us weird, I´m pretty sure they thought we were a couple. They think that she had some kidney stones so she had to go in for an ultrasound... that was really interesting especially because I got to accompany her... so when we left the room and I saw la Flia Cox in the hall I yelled "It´s a boy!" They just kinda chuckled but I thought I was pretty funny... so did my comp. Anyway after all those tests they think that she had a kidney stone that she already passed so we had to take it easy that day and a little bit this week but now it seems that she is all better! All in all a very interesting experience!
Cali sent me a quote from her talk that I really like so I will share it all with you! This is from Pres. Uchtdorf´s talk You Matter to Him and he said,
“God Himself said we are the reason He created the universe! His work and glory—the purpose for this magnificent universe—is to save and exalt mankind. In other words, the vast expanse of eternity, the glories and mysteries of infinite space and time are all built for the benefit of ordinary mortals like you and me. Our Heavenly Father created the universe that we might reach our potential as His sons and daughters.”
I love you all! I think about you often, pray for you always, and love you forever!
