Although We Are Imperfect, God Loves Us Perfectly

(This is - hands down - my favorite pic of her mission!)

¡Hola!

¿Cómo estan ustedes? Wow how quickly the time flies! I can´t believe that I have been here in Cuidad Evita for a whole transfer. I swear the days just keeping going by faster and faster. We had transfers today but we are staying the same here in our area. Which means that I will be with my comp up until the end of her mission. I feel really fortunate to have been comps with all of the more experienced hermanas in the mission.

The transfers were really crazy this transfer but as I was hearing what happened I felt a little uneasy with the great unknown that brought the changes, but just as quickly I felt a calm assurance that President Carter is led and directed by God and Jesus Christ and that this is their work to bring happiness and joy to God´s children and that as an instrument in God´s hands President Carter knows what he is doing. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who I know and who knows and loves me.

This week we had the craziest weather. One day it was super hot and the next day it was hailing and freezing and then 2 hours later is was hot again. And with a ton of humidity. Welcome to Buenos Aires! The hail here is crazy. I saw people covering their cars with blankets and I was thinking to myself "why?" and then when I saw the size of the hail I realized that it is because the hail will break the windows and dent the cars if not! We were in an apt building and heard a window in an apt next to the one we were in break... super crazy. But we were super blessed to never actually be outside when it was hailing and I have good boots and an umbrella for the rain so I´m good to go with the weather stuff.

Yesterday I was talking to a man in the ward about the temple and when it will be finished (he and his wife are missionaries called to work on the temple) and he told me that it should be finished some time in May... ahh that is cutting it close. He asked me when I was going home and told me that they would finish it just for me! :) I sure hope so!

This week I have really seen the love of God in my life. Many times I ask God for what I want and He gives me what I need, I ask for what I think will make me happy now and He gives me what will make me happy for eternity. I love this quote from a talk by Elder Uchtdorf:

"Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God’s love for you. God does not look on the outward appearance. I believe that He doesn’t care one bit if we live in a castle or a cottage, if we are handsome or homely, if we are famous or forgotten. Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God’s love encompasses us completely.
He loves us because He is filled with an infinite measure of holy, pure, and indescribable love. We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. God’s love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant, and the wicked."

What this means is that, regardless of our current state, there is hope for us. No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us.

I know that as much as I love you all, God loves you more. The distance that is between us and God, we put ourselves and always he is just one prayer away.

Sorry that I have been slacking in the story department. This week I will try and write down some of the things that happen so that I can remember them.
I think about you often, pray for you always, and love you forever!

p.s. I think the pictures are pretty self explanitory... one is of a my old district, one is of a goat that always likes to try and eat my skirt in the house of one of the members, another is of the street that is basically a river... yeah it will probably be like that for like a week after a rainstorm, one of the hail stones that were like rather large stones, and one is of argentine pride! :)

LOVE YOU ALL!
